Gutted! 2022

Gutted I and Gutted II represent the human gut when it is spread out to its full length of around 7.5 metres. These pieces set out to subvert the traditional image of the human gut as dirty, gory and somewhat shameful. Instead, these works depict it in colourful organic forms as a beautiful, miraculous, part of the human body. The dots representing the trillions of microbiome in the gut which have been shown to be important for our physical and mental health.
